As with all grass roots and community groups it is the people who make them work. NLASF.org is made up entirely of unpaid volunteers, who feel passionately about issues affecting Latin America.
Running the group is very much a learning process, so you don't need to be an expert in order to get involved. The group thrives on new perspectives and ideas and we welcome all participants no matter how much or little they feel they know.
We always need help organising events, distributing information and most importantly ideas and opinions. Despite all the hard work we usually have quite a good time too..!
Please send us an email if you have any suggestions, ideas or would like to get involved.
At NLASF we have drawn inspiration from popular struggle in Latin America. The social, political and cultural developments taking place in Latin America do not occur in isolation, but are symptomatic of a world view that disempowers and impoverishes. There are lots of groups, campaigns and individuals out there working hard to make a difference. Have a look at the links/useful contacts below for a taster of some of the many things going on. If there isn't a group listed for the issue that you really care about you could always start one yourself!

MEET IN THE STREET is committed to raising awareness of important issues and encouraging the exchange of thoughts, ideas, opinions, information and knowledge by initiating free and open public discussions in public spaces. In doing so, we aim to contribute to the growth of more informed, empowered, united, and participatory communities.
NORWICH STOP THE WAR COALITION is part of the national STOP THE WAR COALITION. The Norwich Stop the War Coalition was formed in October 2001 prior to the attack on Afghanistan. At a meeting in response to the Middle East crisis on Wednesday 10 April 2002 several organisations agreed to the statement:
`We affirm the right of all people to live in peace and dignity. We are increasingly alarmed at the escalating violence in the Middle East, which threatens the whole world.`
